| Blood Services: The RU chapter conducts blood drives on campus each semester. You can help in organizing the blood drive, getting the word out, registering donors and most importantly by DONATING BLOOD. Health and Safety Services: The RU chapter will sponsor various trainings from time to time for the campus community. The best way to reach people with life-saving information is through other young people. Become a peer educator by receiving valuable training ranging from First Aid, CPR, swimming and lifegaurding; from HIV/AIDS education to care giving programs like Babysitter's Training. Armed Forces Emergency Services: The Emergency Services center at the local chapter delivers round the clock emergency communication services to active duty military personnel, and their families. Disaster Services: Each year the American Red Cross responds immediately to more than 60,000 disasters, including house or apartment fires, hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, tornadoes, explosions and other natural disasters. When a disaster strikes, the Red Cross provides shelter, food, health and mental services to address basic human needs. The RU chapter will be there to help the campus community in times of fires and other disasters. Community Services: The local chapter provides humanitarian services that help people in the community live healthier and safer lives. The RU chapter will be involved in teaching basic safety needs to children at elementary schools, assisting high school students develop their own Red Cross chapter, conducting food drives on campus and much more. |
